I have spent the last several months refining a workflow where voice is my primary input for coding agents. I talk through the problem, constraints, context, and desired outcome in ChatGPT, turn that thinking into a focused task for Codex, then use Codex Remote to keep my Mac as the working development environment while I review and steer work from my phone throughout the day.
While documenting this workflow, I found Thomas Ricouard’s excellent OpenAI Developer article, “Mastering remote engineering work from your phone,” which describes many of the same patterns and goes much deeper into Remote, steering, review, goals, permissions, context management, skills, and plugins.
I arrived at this workflow through months of experimentation, but Thomas’s guide is the reference I would recommend to anyone who wants to understand the capability properly.
